Torah Study

Our Torah Study group meets in the synagogue's library on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 10:15. We are working our way through the Hebrew Bible in sequence. We are in the middle of the end of the Second Book of Kings. Each week we read and discuss. This is a wonderful group and we have a great time.

We look at the text in the context of our lives and our ideas. Our explorations of the text always touch on what is going on in the large world and in our Etz Chaim world. While we avoid fancy scholarly vocabulary, our conversations regularly return to big themes, such as; leading Jewish lives in the modern world, our relationship with God, our understanding of truth and truths and our connection to the Jewish People and the Land of Israel.

You do not have to commit to attending every Saturday. Some people come every week, some people come most weeks, some people drop in from time to time. We meet each Saturday from Labor Day to Memorial Day. Years ago when members of the group had young children we arranged for child care during the hour and fifteen minutes of Torah Study. If there is interest we could do this again.

For many, many years the weekly Torah Study group has been a highlight of my week. I believe that many of you would enjoy and be enriched by participating in our weekly conversations. I invite you to refresh our group and by doing so refresh your lives.
