Rabbi Kamil is a graduate of Michigan State University, where his Jewish life included membership in Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and service as president of the campus Hillel. He also worked for local synagogues, where he taught in the religious school. During the summer of 2007, Rabbi Kamil completed a summer semester of study at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
After graduation, Rabbi Kamil became a program associate at Hillel at Eastern Michigan University. From 2010-2015, he studied at HUC-JIR in Cincinnati, where he received a Masters of Hebrew Letters and was ordained. For the past several years he has served as a rabbinic intern and now as a Rabbi at Adath Israel in Cincinnati, under the direction of Rabbi Irvin Wise.
Rabbi Kamil is married to Rebecca, who has also just became a Rabbi at HUC-JIR preparing for a career as a Rabbi and chaplain. Rabbi Kamil enjoys running, backpacking, sailing, playing guitar, reading, and a good movie too.
Both Ricky and Rebecca are extremely excited to be part of the Etz Chaim family.
