The Caring Committee provides support for and assistance to Congregation Etz Chaim members in times of need. There are many different services that are provided on an as-needed basis. Our goal is to have many volunteers, each of whom might be called on once or twice in a year.
Regional captains handle caring committee requests in their own and nearby towns. When needed, they will contact our membership in the local area and request assistance. This means you will be getting emails or contact from your captain for caring needs near your home. So, please expect an email from your captain on occasion and help when you can.
The caring committee provides assistance to congregants in a number of important ways; arranging rides, providing meals in times of illness, assistance with shiva and funeral arrangements, visiting a shut in, arranging rides to services, etc.
If you have any questions about what we do, please contact us. If you know of someone who is in need of our services, please call the synagogue office directly at 630-627-3912.
