Robert Honig lives in Elmhurst with his wife, Lisa. They have two children, Brandon and Audrey, who both grew up at Etz Chaim. He is an attorney, practicing law in Elmhurst. He attended University of Illinois and Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Rob grew up in Skokie, and he spent his summers in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, at URJ camp OSRUI. A long-time member of the Congregation, he has enjoyed serving on many committees. He is best known around the Temple, however, for teaching 7th grade conversational Hebrew. In his classroom, Rob prides himself on being not only the teacher, but also the “class clown.”
As President, Rob is excited to lead with a sense of joy. He sees Etz Chaim as a hub of Jewish life for Chicago’s west suburban community, and he is welcoming of the changes that will keep our community vibrant.
