Wednesday night Tammie and I went to the White House Hanukkah party. Security was thorough. We passed hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh through two checkpoints at which guards checked our photo IDs against the guest list and then went through metal detectors.

In sports we move from season to season. Baseball season is winding down and football season is in full gear. In Jewish education we too have a season. Even though we hope that people will find ways to be involved in Jewish education, our formal season begins this week.

It’s been six years since I have been on faculty at OSRUI. As I write this the campers have all arrived; some are here for two weeks, some for four and some for seven weeks. We have 36 campers from Etz Chaim that are here right now.

Every year I marvel at our wonderful staff. We have so many people that volunteer their time each week to help our students grow into informed Jews and help them feel good about being Jewish. Below are the teachers this year that made that happen:
