Rabbi Edgar Nof, past Rabbi of our sister congregation Or Hadash in Haifa, has started a new congregation called "Bridges for Hope - Gesharim LeTikvah”, which is a nonprofit association/congregation of people, that emphasizes Tikkun Olam projects.

This Sunday is teacher appreciation at Etz Chaim. Each year the school committee prepares a delicious breakfast for our teachers. The children in the primary grades all make cards for their teachers and we do our best to make them feel appreciated.

Sociologists report that Passover is the most widely observed Jewish holiday. More Jews participate in a Pesach Seder than in any other Jewish ritual. We cannot say the same thing about Shavuot. For many Jews, Shavuot is the holiday they ignore.
