We are moving forward and advancing in our prayer practice. Most of the students have mastered the Shabbat Blessings and we have moved on to practicing the Bar'chu and the blessing for reading the Torah. A couple kids have moved on and this week will start practicing the Mi Chamocha.
Our lesson today was on Mitzvot, doing good deeds. We talked about things people do for us that are nice, and then we talked about different things we can do ourselves as mitzvot - helping pick up toys, giving friends a hug, petting our dogs or cats - we had many great ideas!
The class is continuint to study the structure and concepts of the Shema and It's Blessing section of the worship service. We finished up our study of the Barchu and delved into the Ma'Ariv and Yotzeir Or. HOMEWORK: Read and Complete pages 28/29/30 in the Shema
