Congregation Etz Chaim of DuPage County

Congregational Retreat May 2-4, 2014

Tue, 04/22/2014 - 11:30am -- Lifelong Learning

Join us for an amazing weekend at OSRUI really focusing on Shabbat and community togetherness as we explore, "Fabric of the Jewish Experience", the four aspects of the Jewish experience; the Jewish immigration to the US, Jewish traditions around the world, gender issues in Judaism and Jewish persecution through history. Adults will enjoy great presentations with lots of audience participation, discussions and group activities while the children get to experience the same topics but in age appropriate activities with OSRUI counselors. We will have plenty of time for schmoozing too, so you can get to know other members of your Jewish community better!

Communal meals in the Dining Hall are always fun. You'll sit with different folks while eating family style, learn some Hebrew vocabulary from Rabbi Bob, and end each meal with an energetic song session led by Cindy Michelassi.

School-age children sleep in a camp cabin under the supervision of college-age counselors. Adults have rooms in the Lodge and the Bayit. Younger children stay with their parents in the Lodge. No child is too young. Previous retreats have had infants as young as two months old!

Families, singles, seniors, couples - everyone and anyone - are welcome to study, pray, eat, relax, sing and just enjoy Shabbat for an entire weekend! You will find Shabbat and Havdalah Services at the retreat are quite special with lots of congregant involvement.

The cost of the retreat is $155 for adults and $67.50 for children, for a weekend full of engaging programming, great food, comfortable accommodations, social interaction and FUN!

If you have questions contact Karen and John Butterfield or Robin and Phil Somers for more information. See you at OSRUI!
