We invite you to join us this Sunday, January 20th at 11:00AM here at Congregation Etz Chaim as we welcome Sheikh Hassan Mostafa Aly from the Mecca Center as our Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration speaker. He will speak about the importance of Jewish and Muslim relationships through service.

 

Sheikh Hassan Mostafa Aly is the Imam and Director of Religious Affairs at the Mecca Center in Willowbrook, Illinois and has been since December 2011. He is a graduate of prestigious Al-Azhar University of Cairo, Egypt in Islamic Studies and Theology, has Master degree in Theology (Th.M), and is currently a Ph.D candidate in Theology. He has the “sanad / ijazah” linked to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Quran and Hadith. He has also held the position of Imam and served as the director of religious affairs in many other Islamic centers as well as having taught at Islamic schools both in Egypt and the United States. He is the author of many articles published in newspapers and on websites. Sheikh Aly was the recipient of the Best Religious Speech award from Al-Azhar University Cairo in 2002.He has spoken at many universities and community colleges such as Midwestern, Northeastern, Lewis, DuPage, Kishwaukee, and the University of Chicago; and he has hosted many Islamic radio shows in the United States.
