This year we will be having a new celebration. We will begin with a multi-generational temple-wide picnic at 4:30PM with food trucks, activities, fun and games. At 5:00 PM, Rabbi Yehoshua Ben Avraham will be leading a study session. Then at 6:15PM we will have a short Tot Selichot service and simultaneously, a ceremony where we will bury the old prayer books we will no longer be using. This Geniza, or grave for Jewish artifacts is the correct place to lay these honored Jewish books to rest. If you have Jewish artifacts that you would like to bury, feel free to do so that evening. At 6:30PM our students will lead the introduction to the Slichot service and change the Torah covers to the white ones we use on the High Holy Days. At 7:00PM we will have our main Selichot service.
