Congregation Etz Chaim Sisterhood in conjunction with the Jewish Community Against Sex Trafficking (JCAST) Chicago is sponsoring a program for parents with children of all ages. JCAST Chicago is a grassroots program of the National Council of Jewish Women Chicago Northshore (NCJWCNS) with the mission of combating sex trafficking in the Chicagoland area through public awareness and education, community engagement, and advocacy at the local, state and national levels.
As parents and grandparents, many of us may not be aware that this is an issue in our suburban area. Sex trafficking is part of human trafficking, the second largest criminal industry and fast growing. It is not just an issue in large urban areas like Chicago. It is happening here in DuPage County and everywhere around the country.
It is our belief that our children should be safe from this horrific problem. This program will educate you on how, where, when, and how this is taking place. It is happening in our homes, schools, and anywhere our children have access to the Internet.
This will be a three-part program which will begin with general information about the sex trafficking industry. Two highly qualified representatives from JCAST will present a gender-neutral information session. The following two session will be divided between sex trafficking that takes place with boys and girls since there is a difference in how this takes place.
The programs will take place in the Social Hall on the following dates:
Sunday, November 10 at 10:00AM – 11:30AM – General Information Program
Sunday, November 24 at 10:00AM – 11:30AM – Sex Trafficking with Girls
Sunday, December 15 at 9:45AM – 11:15 – Sex Trafficking with Boys
Please plan on attending this very important series.
